You have been on quite a journey, but the important thing is that you've found a home. India was one of my favorite countries I visited on my career break, a magical place. I am neutral on the Eat Pray Love book - I did like it, but didn't love it. However - I did love the fact that it brought the idea of longer term travel for whatever reasons into the public vocabulary and public conversation. For that...I loved it! I don't know why I was so surprised -- pleasantly surprised! -- to get your compassionate message. I really appreciate it. Those days were even worse than I usually let on. So glad that they are (largely) behind me. I am going to see Eat, Pray, Love. Even though I didn't love that book, I have decided to be a believer, not a cynic. I really think it's very important in life to be positive. I don't understand why so many people dislike this book; dislike Deepak Chopra, etc. These people are writing about self-discovery, healing, spirituality and they are successful. What's the problem? Why the need to judge? Personally, I am at a different place in my journey and I need a more rigorous approach ... but that's why I go to Aurovalley Ashram in north India every year ...
