What a shame I missed TBEX! Maybe next year!!! It’s great that you were able to go. Love that pic of Gandhi. I walked by that statue so many times when I lived in NYC.

Your are right when you say that India is a Kaleidoscopic circus of senses.In fact chaos is just a veil for something which is silent deep inside the heart of India. Like a mirage in a desert. And that food really looks amazing.

Reading your experience of TBEX I almost felt as if I was there listening to all those travel stories. Listening to Evelyn must have been so moving, thanks for sharing Mariellen.

Incidentally I was at a travelers meet this last weekend too. A friend of mine Santosh runs a travel company GetOffURAss and now he wants to build a traveler community. This was the first ever meet and yet they had an amazing turn-out. We travelers just need an excuse to travel (http://www.getofftraveller.com/)

http://www.travelblogexchange.com and hope to be at TBEX2011 in Vancouver – one of my favourite cities!

I think it’s interesting how the statue of Gandhi happened upon you in NYC. I think it we look for it, we can always find comfort and familiarity in everyplace we go.

And yes, Evelyn Hannon is one of my mentors, too. I certainly hope I have that much energy, inspiration and flair when I’m 70!
